T5 Chidori and Bamboo

Pierced tanto or waki sized tsuba of bronze(?) with Chidori birds flying amongst bamboo. There is obvious evidence that this tsuba is cast inside the rim, so perhaps it is a Kagamishi (mirror makers) tsuba. It is however, not a contemporary copy as it comes from a collection obtained in Japan about 1947, and also displays evidence of having been mounted. It has an inky black patina. Box included. Priced as a cast, but mountable tsuba of questionable age. Modern reproductions cost at least this much.
